This Computer networking Technology Program provides training in the computer networking skills that today's employers utilize. Throughout this Program, you will receive training in how to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks, wide area networks, and intranets that use DOS and Windows-based network operating systems. You will also learn how to provide customer (help desk) support for software-related problems.
This Program includes a study of general computer science, including PC architecture and desktop operating systems. The training can prepare you for entry-level careers in supporting and administering networks (including LAN and WAN connectivity), implementing and supporting network operating systems in mixed environments, and administrating enterprise services such as the World Wide Web (WWW) and Structured Query Language (SQL).
When you complete this Computer Networking Technology Program, you will be awarded an Associate of Science or an Associate of Applied Science Degree and should have the basic skills and knowledge for entry-level positions, such as network operator, network support technician, computer help desk specialist, computer support specialist, and information technology support specialist.
