This course examines the role of first responders/public safety personnel in the context of potential confrontational or use of force situations as well as techniques that can be used during a conflict to prevent physical and/or emotional harm. Learn to identify the elements and techniques of an effective de-escalation system and apply the system as a tool to de-escalate volatile situations. Learners will also be better equipped mentally to make critical decisions under stress and minimize the use force. 24 Instructional hours.
